The Green Group are continuing to explore some areas in the nursery.

They have been busy exploring the writing and drawing area. Enjoying using the glue and pens. We talked about scissor safety and how we should hold them and use them in the bottom room.

The puzzle table has also been very popular with the Greenies. Some of the children enjoying the challenge of mixing the puzzles together to sort.

We are enjoy dancing in the top room and we had the pompoms out this week! Woo!

The children in the Snug have shown an interest in autumn changes, bringing in leaves they have collected from home. They enjoyed exploring an autumn tuft tray with tweezers, developing their fine motor skills and counting the conkers out. We also used leaves that we collected from the garden to print and glue. We had lots of fun exploring some pumpkin spice playdough too, squashing, patting cutting and smelling it.

This week the Blue Group had lots of fun as they moved around the room like different creatures as they:

Crawled like snails; wriggled like worms; slithered like snakes: galloped like horses and hopped like bunnies!

At the end of the activity the Blue Group noticed that their hearts were beating much faster!!! Some of the children said they were feeling hot, thirsty and ready for snack after all of that exercise!

Our first couple of weeks at nursery have been very exciting!

We explored lots of different areas in the bottom room and made new friends!

There was lots of areas to choose from, some of the children enjoyed playing independently while others played together in the new environment.

We’ve had some fun dancing in the top room and listening to stories. The children enjoyed listening to the story of Jack and the Bean stalk. They were not impressed with the big mean giant!

We also got very creative outside while mark making with the chalk.

Blue group have been very busy the past two weeks. We had a superhero and princess week where we dressed up as our favourite characters, read fairy tale stories and had a tea party.

We went to forest school this week where the children painted our fence using mud! We had a wonderful time making marks. After all this fun we had a lovely campfire with hot chocolate and toasted marshmallows. We were all amazing, we listened to the instructions on how to stay safe.

Blue group have also been exploring shapes this week. We talked about what shapes we already knew , then we drew them on the white boards .Then we decided to look for familiar shapes in the environment where we decided that the clock in our class room is a circle and our door is a rectangle. After all this hard work the children drew around shapes on large scale paper.
