We like to use a range of objects and strategies at Planning Time in Red Group. The children have been experimenting with the voice recorders this week. It’s quite tricky to press down the 2 buttons and talk at the same time, but the children are having fun learning how to use it! The high winds on Thursday meant that Red Group were unable to go on the Forest School Teddy Bear’s Picnic. However, that did not stop us having fun! We took our teddies to the top room and had a lovely picnic then, we had a dance with them to the Beat Babies. That was not all, as we then went to the kitchen and had hot chocolate and toasted marshmallows! Lovely!
We have been talking about all the lovely things we did for Mental Health Week in Nursery. We loved happy dancing with pom-poms for large group time and making friendship bracelets for people we love, but our favourite activity was using lots of jewels and sequins for our sensory bottles. We are so looking forward to the farm visit and are having lots of practice for it by looking after our amazing chicks!
Red Group have been doing two of their favourite Small Group Times this week. The children were really excited when we had a letter treasure hunt in the sand. The children had to find objects with the initial letters ‘p’ and ‘s’ and sort them on to the appropriate cards. They were very good! Another favourite is colour mixing. I told the children we could do magic by making new colours from just red, blue and yellow. They were amazed when they produced different shades of green, purple, orange and brown.
