We mixed our own paint and added a little bit of mud to see what would happen. The children have really enjoyed finding out what happens and experimenting by mixing two things together this week.
We made bird feeders to feed the birds that visit our forest school.
At this time of year there is not a lot of food around for our birds so we used a mixture of fat and seeds to make sure they have a full tummy!
This week in forest school we noticed there seemed to be more birds. We decided to take a closer look. There were pigeons, sparrows and even a robin. (Being inquisitive) (Being at one with nature)
Although it was a little cold, the campfire really warmed us up.
We made a plan about how we might record the types of birds we might see when we went back into forest school. (Being independent) (Being at one with nature)
There has been a great deal of interest in mini beasts in the Snug! From spotting ants and snails in our garden to a bug hunt in forest school where we saw bees and a ladybird. We also bought some caterpillars so the children could watch the transformation process. We now have butterflies which we are releasing in the garden. The children have been fascinated watching the changes.
