“I wonder what will happen if we put this mint into a jug of fizzy cola?”
Nothing happened! We were disappointed so decided to drop one into a bottle of cola.
WHOOSH
“It was like a volcano”
We mixed our own paint and added a little bit of mud to see what would happen. The children have really enjoyed finding out what happens and experimenting by mixing two things together this week.
Signs of Spring has been a big interest and the children have loved taking pictures in Forest School of all the new buds and flowers they can see. We printed off the pictures and they stuck them in the floorbook- discussing what we had seen and how they grow. We also painted our own daffodils observing the different parts of the flower and thinking about what colours to use and how to make them using the powder paints.
“Whatever Next!” We have loved this story so much that we decided to work together to make our own rocket ship. The children painted it and enjoyed acting out the story, using lots of language they had remembered from the story.
This week we played an exciting game. We threw balls into tubs to see how many we could get in.
Children used their skills to not only throw the balls but also to aim it in the right direction!
Next we thought about how we could record our scores.
We used tallies to mark how many goals we scored.
We decided it would be a good idea to plant sunflower seeds as a gift for Mother’s Day.
First we talked about what we needed. The children quickly knew that soil would be the best option.
We then discussed what else ith would need. We watered our seeds. Hopefully they will grow very soon!
We made bird feeders to feed the birds that visit our forest school.
At this time of year there is not a lot of food around for our birds so we used a mixture of fat and seeds to make sure they have a full tummy!
