Week Beginning 11th September 2017

By F Waterhouse14th September 2017

In the green room we have been busy exploring lego. Jessica used the lego animals and bricks to build a farm, Lennon made a road and Charlotte made some traffic lights for him – “Red is stop, Green is go”.

We made chocolate crispy cakes for snack. The children independently mixed chocolate and rice crispies together.

During our placing and arranging activity we explored natural resources. We made a drum kit.

We did placing and arranging for our Small Group Time on Wednesday. Leo decided to make a play park with a slide and swings. Paris made a big tower, and Charlie made a farm with fences. Will made a mouse; he said “there are two eyes, a nose, a mouth, ears tummy and two legs”. Imogen made a roundabout and the sun shine.

Will and Imogen were active in our yoga session. They were very bendy!

By F Waterhouse8th September 2017

The staff at Clervaux Nursery School would like to take this opportunity to welcome all new and returning children, parents, carers and families, to our school. Our aim is to create a wonderful experience for your child and those who care for them. This is a special time in your child’s life and we would like it to be a happy experience for all.

Nursery opens for our returning children on Monday 11th September at 8:50am for morning children and at 12:30pm for afternoon children.

Our new starter children will come to nursery on Tuesday 12th September for their first transition session at either 9:30am or 1pm.

We look forward to welcoming you all!

Stories and Songs Week Beginning 11th September 2017

By F Waterhouse6th September 2017

This week the children will be reading these 5 stories:

We will also be singing these songs with the children which relate to the books:

When Goldilocks Went To The House Of The Bears - Click here for the song and video

Jack and the Beanstalk – By Tiny Tweeties

Spoken

“Jack threw some magic beans out of the window,

and when he woke up the next morning

he saw a HUGE beanstalk, and this is what he did”

Singing

“Jack climbed the beanstalk, Jack climbed the beanstalk,

Jack climbed the beanstalk, right to the top.

He opened the castle door, he opened the castle door,

he opened the castle door, and he crept right in.

And then he hid under a table, he hid under a table

he hid under a table, so no-one could see.

Then he took the harp and the goose, he took the harp and the goose,

he took the harp and the goose, and that wasn’t very kind.

Oh oo….Fee fi fo fum, Fee fi fo fum, Fee fi fo fum, the giants after us,

quick down the beanstalk,

back down the beanstalk, back down the beanstalk,

back down the beanstalk, the giants after us.

Chop, chop, chop the beanstalk, chop, chop, chop the beanstalk,

chop, chop, chop the beanstalk, and it fell down to the ground.

Mum and Jack were happy, Mum and Jack were happy,

Mum and Jack were happy, happy ever after
