The children have been exploring autumnal resources within the provision.

They have been making some lovely marks creating their own leaves, leaf rubbing and filling. The sunflowers have read stories about autumn, created their own leaf pictures, developing their fine motor skills by collecting leaves from the tape, as well as introducing an autumn box – filled with all things autumn!

Autumn leaves are falling down…

We have been learning about Autumn this half term, we have discussed what happens during autumn time, such as the leaves falling off the tree, the weather getting colder as well as learning about autumnal animals. The children have been on leaf hunts, made arrangements with conkers and pinecones, read stories about autumn, created our own autumn collages, as well as leaf rubbing. We have been learning autumn songs too!

Some of our friends found something exciting too! – they found a Caterpillar. The children collected leaves and sticks to put in the holder for the caterpillar, they looked after it really well!

The children in Main Nursery have settled in really well, they have explored all areas within the nursery, inside and outside as well as on the back field!

The Daisy children have been interested in their new environment, exploring all the different areas, they have enjoyed both inside and outside. They have been showing off their physical skills on the back field too!

The Sunflowers have enjoyed settling in to their new nursery routine, they have explored the different areas inside and outside.

Some of our friends came in dressed up as their favourite characters or outfits.

We have been going on a bear hunt this week. We have watched the story on the screen and listened to the story book using props. We have explored different foods on the tasting table such as lettuce, chocolate custard, raisins, pancake bears, rice, bread sticks, twiglets, icing sugar and bourbon biscuits. We’ve painted with mud, sticks and cotton wool as we explored different colours. We’ve walked through our own little Bear Hunt trail stepping on shaving foam, sticks, grass, water and mud.
