This week the Blue Group did a great job as they carefully painted daffodils, during our observational drawing at small group time. We talked about the stem, petals and trumpet parts of the flowers.  Whist at Forest School this week we found lots of signs of spring, especially daffodil shoots appearing through the ground.
This week the Green Room children got 2 fish to look after. The afternoon children voted to call their fish Tinkerbell. We have had a busy week; there is still a lot of interest in writing so we used chalkboards this week. We went to the block area and the children could use the large or small blocks. The children all chose to work in small groups and work together to build their creations. On Wednesday the children honed their fine motor skills by threading fruit onto skewers at the end they got to drizzle chocolate over them. Delicious!!
Red Group have been busy again this week! On Wednesday we learned how to thread special pens with string and make patterns on the boards, which helps to develop the muscles in our hands for writing. We had a fab time at Forest School making kites out of carrier bags! It was a windy day, so we took them outside and had kite races. It was great fun, but it wore us out! We had to have hot chocolate and chocolate pancakes to perk us up again!
The highlight of Red Groupâs week has been the Easter Stay and Play day!  All of the children and adults enjoyed the activities on offer. Lots of us made Easter cards and Spring paintings, and yummy Easter nest cakes. Outside, Forest School was open and Miss Pollard had the camp fire on with marshmallows to toast. A good time was had by all!
Nursery will be closed again tomorrow due to the bad weather conditions. Please stay safe and have lots of fun in the snow!
